Mr. O'Connor. SW11.I wanted to e-mail you about some work you recently did in my flat in Streatham. Having found a gas leak in my living room on Friday lunchtime, British Gas sent round an engineer to look for the leak and "make safe the property". This involved trying to identifying the "intermittent leak" and after 2.5hrs of hunting, cutting my gas off at the meter that afternoon! As my hot water and heating is controlled by a gas boiler, I had a desperate and traumatic hunt for a Corgi or Gas Safe registered gas fitter who was able to fit me in before the weekend to get my gas reconnected.
I am both relieved and delighted with the guy who was sent around from Penguin Heating and Plumbing, he is an ambassador for your company. He was timely, friendly, and very patient in explaining to me the cause of the leak and what was required to repair it. To my pleasant surprise, I found it was him who was leading the conversation along the lines of the economical repair, and not the most costly, which was a case he could have easily put across considering the difficulty the independent Transco engineer had in locating the leak. I was a sitting duck and he could have easily taken advantage but didn't, so thank you very much. I'd definitely use you again or recommend you to a friend should they require a plumber or gas engineer. I would like to say a big thank you for a wonderful job that was well done.
