Power flushing
Over time some heating systems may experience poor circulation resulting in lukewarm radiators, poor hot water, increased noise and sludge build up.
By 'power flushing' your heating system, the sludge and built up residue will be removed via inline magnetic filtration, it will make your system work more efficiently. The cost of 'power flushing' starts from £150 (Please note that power flushes will not remove blockages) depending on the type and size of system you own. For a free estimate please let us know the type of system you own, the age (estimate), the number of radiators and contact us.
After a power flush from our top of the range machine you will notice a difference across your heating system.

The power flush process is: Cleaning chemicals are forcibly pushed through your heating system using
water at high speed but low pressure so that no physical damage is caused.

The power flushing machine is connected to the heating system either across standard circulating pump couplings or across the pipes of one radiator, wherever most practical. The powerful flow combined with flow reversed devices and magnetic filters will immobilise corrosive deposits in your system.
When radiators have cold spots or have failed to work for some time a radiator vibrating tool is used which helps loosen and lift iron oxide sludge and metal particles. This process combined with chemicals relocates iron oxides and sludge to the magnetic filters and are removed as in the photo shown (to the right).
You can see a clean filter and one that has harmful deposits. If the filters need to be cleaned more than three times during a flush it is recommended that you replace your existing pump.
We only use the best equipment on the market. Visit www.proflush.co.uk for further information, we are qualified and registered to use this equipment. Proflush have been training and supplying British Gas for over 12 years and are the only power flush company to be registered with IPHE (Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers).
If you have a new boiler installed, your guarantee will be invalid if the rest of your heating system does not comply with the brands recommended standards. Untreated or neglected systems have been known to result in the premature failure of boilers, valves and pumps, rendered guarantees invalid. If your central heating system has not had a chemical (inhibitor) in the last 7 years or more you may need a minor power flush.
If your boiler is making bubbling noises, or you have cold spots on radiators, or some are not as hot as others, you are probably experiencing circulation problems caused by sludge components. This can be determined by quick chemical, pH and TDS tests, which will tell us chloride levels and if dissolved metals are present, such as iron, copper, aluminium. If you know the water in your system is a grey/black in colour, you will need a power flush.
