Global warming...
or just the tip of the iceberg?

Penguin's energy efficiency advice

Almost half of the UK's carbon dioxide emissions come from energy we use every day be it at home or when we travel. There are many simple things we can do to save energy which will reduce your bills and help prevent climate change.

These range from turning your light when leaving a room, to insulating your cavity walls. Cavity wall insulation is the single greatest energy saving measure you can make. It can cost as little as £500.00 and could save the average household £90.00 per year in heating bills and increase the overall value of your home.

Loft insulation, which can be slightly more expensive to install can save you approximately £110.00 per year.

Replacing an old boiler with a new condensation boiler can cut your annual energy bill by approximately a third. In addition to the new boiler, simply fitting an insulation jacket to your hot water tank will help keep the water hotter for longer, saving the boiler constantly working to keep the temperature up.

If your central heating system is not working efficiently, you are not just risking the costs of boiler breakdown repairs but also subjecting yourself to higher fuel costs than you really need to be.
